The Shin Japanese Malt Whisky Mizunara Oak Finish (750ml)
Volume: 750ml ABV: 48% Age: No Age Statement Country: Japan
Niigata is known in Japan for its “Three White” treasures, i.e. snow, rice and sake, and a naturally blessed environment for pure water source. Shinobu means “Forbearance” in Japanese as it is how the distiller’s spirit should be when making quality whisky. Ken Usami, the master distiller of Shinobu Distillery, took the sourced liquid streams, carefully blended them and finished everything in casks of Mizunara—a coveted Japanese oak that imparts delicate notes of sandalwood and spice into matured spirit.
Shin Malt Whiskies are well balanced between the woody flavour and incense of sandalwood from Mizunara Oak and the bold aged maltiness, which brings fruit forward and with a bit of a peppery and spice aftertaste
Shin Malt Whisky is made by selecting whiskies from ‘different distilleries’ which were initially aged in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks. Awarded a ‘Best In Class’ distinction at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020 to Shin 10 Year Old Mizunara Oak Finished Malt Whisky.
