The Balvenie Aged 14 Years Caribbean Cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 43% Age: 14 Years Old Country: Scotland
The Balvenie Distillery was first established in 1892 and production started in 1893. Located in the heart of Speyside the distillery boasts its own floor maltings. The maltings only make up about 15% of the mash bill but adds a personal touch to the characteristics of this fine Scottish whisky. The Balvenie was one of the first distilleries in the world to introduce a ‘finished’ single malt whisky with the launch of the doublewood in 1993.
Initially matured in ex Bourbon oak before experiencing a finish in casks which held Caribbean rum. This adds a warmth and sweetness to the whisky. The rum casks used are said to have been from The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart’s collection of West Indian Rums. Take the rich honey character of whisky from The Balvenie and finish maturation in some of the finest rum casks from the Caribbean. What you get is a whisky with enhanced vanilla notes and a spicy aromatic nose. A terrific creation from Malt Master David Stewart which will give you the best of both worlds.
