Douglas Laing’s Scallywag is a Small Batch bottling created using only the finest Speyside Malts including – amongst others – Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes. The original Scallywag launched in 2013, followed by the first Limited Edition Cask Strength bottling in 2015. We are now delighted to present to you Scallywag Cask Strength #2. Just 4800 bottles of this rare breed are available globally. Bottled at a striking 54.1% alcohol strength and non chill-filtered, this Small Batch bottling of Scallywag Cask Strength Limited Edition has a distinct rich, dark colour – extracted from the many fine Spanish Sherry Butts used during maturation.

The bottler is Douglas Laing an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Rhubarb crumble with cinnamon custard with ginger snap biscuits.

Palate: Stewed apples, espresso coffee, vanilla chocolate fudge, whisky soaked raisins

Finish: A long and fruity finish with toasted oak and plenty of dark chocolate.
