Redbreast Lustau Edition Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 46% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland
Redbreast is a brand of single pot still Irish Whiskey produced by Irish Distillers who also produce Jameson. It is the largest selling single pot still Irish Whiskey in the world. The maturation process consists of spirit being given time to mature in European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry barrels and American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
A new bottling introduced into the Redbreast core range. First matured in a combination of American oak and European oak casks for 9 to 12 years then finished for 12 months in first fill Oloroso Sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau.
So what exactly is single pot still whiskey? Essentially, it’s whiskey that is made from malted and un-malted barley and no other grain. It is unblended (thus the “single pot” bit.) And it must be made in Ireland to be considered as such.
