Mars Tsunuki The First Cask Strength Japanese Single Malt Whisky (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 59% Age: No Age Statement Country: Japan
The very first single malt whisky from the new Tsunuki Distillery, located on the island of Kyushu in Southern Japan. This whisky was distilled in 2016 and has been labelled as ‘The First’ which will be a wonderful collectors item. Bottled at natural cask strength.
Mars operate from two distilleries, since 2011 from the Shinshu Distillery and from 2016 the Tsunuki Distillery. Maturation tends to be quicker from the TTsunuki Distillery due to the warmer climate and temperature fluctuation.
Hombo Kazuto, (President of the parent company, Hombo Shuzo) said, “This is a young whisky, but I have to say this tastes surprisingly mature. The whisky had been deepened by climate and weather in Tsunuki. The area is surrounded by mountains, and it gets hot in summer and cold in winter. This is just the beginning of Tsunuki single malt, and there is a lot to discover”
