Another exceptional peaty delight brought to us by the lads and lassies at the Springbank Distillery. This one was discovered after an experiment was carried out after the Springbank Chairman set out to prove it was possible to create a Islay style Single Malt on the Scottish mainland. The barley used to produce this Single Malt is entirely peat dried offering a wonderful smokey peaty caharcteristic. This one a vintage bottling from 1996 which has a wonderful balance of smoke and brine.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral on the nose, hints of heather and thyme, with a slight smokiness starting to flow through.
Palate: Smokiness with peat and a sweetness you get from poached orange rind and a hint of citrus.
Finish: Again a long finish on this Longrow wth oak and citrus.
