South Star Spirits Is a whisky bottling company born from 4 whisky enthusiasts who are building a distillery in the heart of one of Scotch Whiskies most cherished regions
We are celebrating this new addition to the magical world of distillation by releasing a small batch range of matured single malt whiskies to let you know we’re here…hello!
The Dál Riata Distillery will be located in the heart of Campbeltown producing single malt scotch whisky with traditions and styles that are consistent with whiskies distilled and matured on the western seaboard.
The Highland Line came about on whisky maps for tax reasons in 1784, when customs duties were set lower in the Highlands to encourage local farmers to register their stills. It didn’t work. But it has given us a range of incredible whiskies to drink.
The Highland style is often heavier and slightly spicier than Speyside, but still sweet.
Peat may feature, as some distilleries maintain older practices, but there is no one representative whisky for the Highlands.
Like Scotland itself, embrace the diversity.
