Hellyers Road Distillery is one of Australia’s largest distiller of Australian single malt whisky and proudly Tasmanian. Complementing their premium products they have also been recognised as a significant Burnie Tourist Attraction and received a Highly Commended at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards 2011. The distilling process uses only the finest Tasmanian produce, including some of the world’s purest drinking water, delivered on the winds of the roaring 40’s. Like most top class whisky products, the process required to meet the expectations of a discerning whisky drinker is one that is highly specialised, requiring true dedication to the art! The casks are imported American Oak barrels that were previously the domicile of American whisky, providing a tried and true means of maturation appreciated by whisky connoisseurs around the globe.

As the name suggests, Hellyers Road original product, distilled from premium Tasmanian grain and some of the world’s purest drinking water. Matured in ex-bourbon American Oak casks and bottled at 46.2% alcohol volume with no artificial colouring and not requiring chilled filtration. Hellyers Road distilling process ensures an enhanced single malt flavour delivering a well-balanced and very smooth spirit.

Official Tasting Notes

The nose is drawn to hints of citrus, lemon and orange, while the palate is in receipt of a vanilla sweetness transcending a warm, toasty aftertaste conjuring impressions of freshly buttered sourdough.
