Glenmorangie A Tale Of Cake Highland Single Malt Whisky (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 46% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland
Dr Bill Lumsden has been at the helm of the Glenmorangie distillery for a quarter of a century. He has brought consistency, excitement and innovation not only to this distillery but the whisky community. With releases like Glenmorangie Signet and Glenmorangie Balcalta and we can’t forget the Glenmorangie Allta to name a few.
His recent experiment has taken the world by storm and delivered a whisky that is right outside of normal. Dr Lumsden wants to create memorable moments with his whisky and there is not a moment more memorable than one when cake is involved. Bill has set out to create a whisky which should encapsulate the joy of cake and the joy around sharing cake.
Dr Lumsden takes his classic Glenmorangie, full of fruity, fragrant goodness and then bakes it into a cake, well not entirely. Using ex Tokaji casks from the Hungarian region of Tokaj, where they make a highly awarded dessert wine from noble rot grapes, he finished the whisky for a period of time.
The Glenmorangie Tale of Cake is a lovely dram, balanced and full of sweet, creamy, fruity notes that resemble a balanced dessert. Bottled at 46% with no colouring or chillfiltration.
