Wm Cadenheads are the oldest independent bottler in Scotland which pretty much makes them one of the oldest in the world. They produce the most remarkable ‘never to be tasted again’ whiskies, rums and gins which are sourced from all over the world.
This small batch single malt whisky was distilled at the Glenburgie Distillery in northern Speyside (also known as the Glenburgie-Glenlivet Distillery). It’s one of my favourite distilleries in Scotland and the spirit it produces is also one of my favourite especially at cask strength.
Distilled in 2004 and left for 13 years to mature in two ex-Bourbon hogshead barrels and bottled in 2017 at 54.7% cask strength. Only 576 bottles were produced of this tasty whisky.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Tropical fruits dominate, floral and grassy with hints of citrus.
Palate: Baked lemon cheesecake with shortbread crust and drizzles of salted caramel.
Finish: Another great Glenburgie showing orchard fruits, honey sweetness and soft spices.
