Official Tasting Notes
Nose: The ex-bourbon barrel has given this whisky lovely lemon and vanilla notes. There’s actually lots going on here. Floral notes of rose petals, freshly cut grass and wild mint. Caramel and black pepper creamy with buttery cookie dough.
Palate: Lashings of fruit and floral elements, apples and citrus. There’s a nice balance of oak and spices of ginger, white pepper and again the mint. Sweetness is found in honeycomb and creamy vanilla slice. Plenty of alcohol here so water is also a good idea to bring out the elements further.
Finish: The finish is long with again mint and plenty of oak. A little bitter at the ending with black tea, again more citrus but with some red berries creeping through.
