Bunnahabhain Moine 2012 Aged 9 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky – The Whisky Jury (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 56.4% Age: 9 Years Old Country: Scotland
The Whisky Jury is an independent bottler of single malt Scotch whisky based in Belgium. The company was founded by three whisky enthusiasts who share a passion for exceptional whisky and a desire to share it with others. The Whisky Jury selects casks from a variety of distilleries, with a particular focus on lesser-known distilleries and limited edition releases. They bottle their whisky at cask strength without any artificial colour or chill filtration, allowing the unique flavours and aromas of each cask to shine through. The company’s philosophy is to offer transparency and authenticity in every bottle, with detailed information about the cask and its maturation process provided on each label. The Whisky Jury also hosts tastings and events to share their passion for whisky with others.
The ‘Moine’ term (‘mon-ye’) which is Scots Gaelic for ‘Peat’ is a term Bunnahabhain use for their heavily peated whisky offerings. This offering from The Whisky Jury has been matured in a very active Sherry cask and bottled at cask strength. The youthful age of the whisky has meant the peat smoke is very noticeable both on the nose and on the palate. The Sherry cask however has delivered some outstanding flavour and mouthfeel. The combination has resulted in a whisky that is full of bold peat smoke and wonderful beefy malt. The whisky Jury said “In times where single cask whisky is extremely expensive, we will keep prices as low as possible so that these bottles will be opened and not just collected… If the whisky bubble bursts… it is quality that will survive.”
Bottled at 56.4% ABV and a real cracker of a whisky. Exclusively bottled for Australia only and highly sought after.
