Bladnoch Adela 15 Years Old Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 46.7% Age: 15 Years Old Country: Scotland
The distillery was founded in 1817 by Thomas McClelland, and remained in the family’s hands till 1930 when it was acquired by the Belfast Distilling Company. Once distilling as part of Bell’s, Bladnoch has been shaped under the guise of various owners during its almost 200 year history. It was in 2014 when the distillery was placed into receivership that Australian Entrepreneur David Prior decided to purchase the distillery with the deal going through in 2015. A complete refurbishment then took place and brought the distilleries production back online alongside celebrated Master Distiller Ian MacMillan. Casks that have sat in the warehouses for many years maturing are now being used to create some very unique and memorable whiskies. Bladnoch produces a light, grassy and malty Lowland-style malt. The whisky being released from the distillery at the current moment is from the Raymond Armstrong era when a more delicate style was introduced with some peated malt also being used in production.
Bladnoch Adela is a rich, noble single malt which is ultra smooth. Award winning Master Distiller Ian MacMillan has hand selected every cask to bring together a full bodied expression. Matured in American oak and Spanish oak ex Oloroso Sherry barrels for 15 years this is a tribute to Lowland Scottish whisky.
