Official Tasting Notes
A fantastic explosion of fresh citrus zest rolls over richly stewed plums and Demerara sugar. Crisp barley and black pepper fills with a sweet rich warmth.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Lots of sharp citrus fruity flavours, lemon, lime and orange zest. Speyside grassy notes are comforted by summer berries, creamy caramel and a pleasant spice. A lovely woodiness is evident. I could nose this for hours.
Palate: There’s lots of spice which BenRiach are famous for and this ties well with the fruitiness of the single malt. There is plenty of dry woodiness and again a signature cinnamon that so many of these whiskies have. The sherry gives lots of summer berries, raspberries, flowers on a citrus tree and a slight creaminess.
Finish: The whisky does not fail to deliver on the finish which is long and dry. The quality of the oak used lingers for a taste sensation.
