This year’s Limited Edition bottling, Ardbeg Blaaack, is a feisty bottling celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee which was founded in the year 2000. Wow, how time flies by!

It was the mission of Ardbeg’s Master Blender Bill Lumsden to honour their global flock and select casks which Ardbeg had never used before. ex-Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand were the winning casks. Chosen due to both Islay and New Zealand sharing a distinctive similarity of having sheep outnumbering the local by 7 to 1.

Bottled Non chill-filtered at 50.7% ABV.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Summer fruit pudding, bitter cherries and lemon zest. Old cigar boxes and rich oak emerge.

Palate: Summer fruits of strawberries, apricots and pears, cherry strudel, Terrys Chocolate Orange, toasted almonds and bonfire embers.

Finish: Lingering embers, fruity and long.
