Amrut Naarangi Indian Single Malt Whisky (700ml)

Volume: 700ml           ABV: 50%           Age: No Age Statement           Country: India

Amrut Naarangi Single Malt Whisky is a product of many years research to produce whiskies matching world standards. The whisky is made from selected Indian barley grown at the feet of the Himalayas, nurtured by the waters flowing there and cultivated by old and traditional agricultural practises. It is carefully mashed and distilled in small batches to preserve the natural aroma and matured in oak barrels in a unique tropical condition, at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level at Bangalore, the garden city of India. This exclusive bottling of Amrut Cask Strength Single Malt offers the connoisseur the rare opportunity to sample this Treasure of India

To retain the natural characteristics of this oak aged Indian Malt Whisky, they do not chill filter and it comes straight from the barrel in its natural colour.

Amrut presents another first of its kind – single malt whisky finished in orange sherry cask. Amrut procured Oloroso Sherry from Spain and then infused the sherry with fresh orange peels for over two years. Then the sherry was emptied and filled with Amrut Single Malt for further maturation. The result is an essay in elegance, notable yet not dominant orange sherry notes perfectly fused into the whisky flavour. Hence the name Naarangi – orange in Hindi.

This first batch is strictly limited to 900 bottles worldwide.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: There’s certainly citrus peel and sherry here. Mulled wine, warm brown sugar, leather and spice.

Palate: Citrus infused caramel, dark chocolate and peppery spice. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, all spice.

Finish: A long chocolatey experience with oak and spice dominating the palate.
