Using 100% South Australian grown grain, the longitude and latitude of which are on the bottle, they also use a portion of un-malted barley along side specialty malts of Biscuit, Supernova, Redback, Toffee, Crystal and Chocolate.Distilled in a single-shot style through their hybrid still, it is then matured in 200 litre ex-wine casks, both American and French oak. Bottled ay 44% in 700ml bottles, this is the development of the ‘Native Grain’ series from Adelaide Hills and their first whisky to feature under the 78 Degrees label.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Damp oak, caramel and toffee sweetness combines with vanilla and dried orchard fruits of apricot, dates and figs. Fruit cake and Christmas cake spices. Palate: Dark chocolate, toasted grains, Banoffee pie and ginger snap biscuits. Finish: Christmas cake fruits and spices, sweet caramel and creamy vanilla.
