Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 56.2% Age: No Age Statement Country: Scotland
The Isle of Arran distillery was build in 1995 and is now one of two distilleries on the Isle of Arran on Scotland’s West Coast. The distillery boasts an ideal spot for production and distribution of whisky with warm fresh sea air, close proximity to the mainland and an abundance of fresh soft water. Arran enjoys a warm microclimate – the atmosphere of sea breezes and clear mountain air, together with the warm flow of the Gulf Stream is ideal for the speedy maturation of single malts. In the early 19th century, there were more than 50 whisky distilleries on Arran, most of them illegal and carefully hidden from the eyes of the taxmen. The Island’s malt whisky was shipped to the mainland and enjoyed by the gentry, who regularly ‘took the Arran waters’. It was acclaimed at the time as the best whisky in Scotland – only rivalled by those from the ‘Glen of Livet’
A real firecracker at cask strength 56.2% with a peating level of 20 PPM.which promises to deliver a fantastic cask strength experience to all those who enjoy their whisky with a bit of bite! Another example of a great looking, great tasting Single Malt full of character and originality with a story to tell, and most importantly at a reasonable price. This whisky is perfect for those looking to find a whisky with the character of an Ardbeg ‘Almost there’ or ‘Still Young’.
