The Strathclyde Distillery was first founded in 1927 and the first spirit was produced in 1928. Schenley Industries of New York acquired the distillery in 1956 and added a single malt to the range branded Kinclaith. In 1975 the Kinclaith stills were decommissioned and the distillery again only primarily produced grain whisky under the owners Whitbread. It is today owned and operated by Pernod Rocard and mainly produces grain whisky for their signature blends and also independently bottled single grain whisky.
Liquid Treasures Single Malt Whisky is an independent bottling range of eSpirits Whisky in Germany. The company was founded over 10 yers ago and has already released a quite impressive selection of interesting and delicious whiskies. The autumn 2021 collection includes 8 single malt whiskies from all over Scotland, aptly titled the ‘Living World’ due to the stunning flora and fauna artwork on the bottles.
Released as a member of ‘Living World’ series which features amphibians, insects and animals on label. This single grain whisky was created at the Strathclyde Distillery, distilled in 1992 and laid to mature in an ex Bourbon Barrel for 27 years before being bottle in 2020 at natural cask strength of 44.3% abv. Only very few bottles were made available to the Australian market.
