Bottled by Douglas Laing, an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come s close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other. This bottling is taken from their range of ‘remarkable regional malts’ which is a series of malt whiskies created to take the whisky connoisseur on a journey of the whisky regions of Scotland. Big Peat from Islay, The Epicurean from the Lowlands, Rock Oyster from the country’s islands, Scallywag from Speyside, The Gauldrons from Campbeltown and Timorous Beastie from the Highlands.
Rock Oyster 18 years old is a limited edition blended malt which consists of whisky from the Isle of Jura, Isle of Arran, Isle of Islay and Isle of Orkney. This blended scotch whisky is a small batch release ‘Vatted Malt’ which marries some of Scotland’s finest maritime malts and aged malts into a real treasure of a whisky. Bottled at 46.8% abv, delivering the best qualities of the whisky from barrel to bottle. The independent bottler Douglas Laing has again given us a whisky that again excites the pallet like a pearl excites the eyes.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Coastal sea air, smouldering embers, apple peel and black pepper.
Taste: Smoked vanilla doughnut meets barley sugars and honeycomb.
Finish: Spicy with sweet cereals and more smokey goodness.
