Chugoku Jozo produce this blended Japanese whisky named Togouchi. This distillery are a little different in their approach to making whisky, instead of maturing their spirit in a warehouse they do so in a tunnel. The name comes from where the tunnel is located, in the town of Togouchi, which merged with two other towns to create a larger town called Akiota.

Oak barrels that have been used to mature Rum in the French Martinique in the Caribbean are used for IPA beer in France, and the beer casks are used to wood finishing for Togouchi whisky.

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey sweetness, toasted nuts, malty, nutri grain and some soft peat notes.

Palate: Honey sweetness, toasted grains, earthy notes and vanilla.

Finish: Earthy, tropical fruits and honey sweetness.
