The lads and lassies at the Kilchoman distillery have again produced an exceptional limited edition single malt whisky. Prepared with peated malted barley they distill their beautiful fresh spirit and then select some of the best casks around.

This time they have matured their unique spirit in e-bourbon casks and finished the spirits in Sauternes wine casks for 5 months, bottling only 10,000 bottles at 50% abv in 2018. This highlights a great balance of the sweetness from the Sauternes casks and the smoky flavours and aromas from the distilled spirit.

The five month Sauternes finish has allowed a more subtle sweetness and buttery character to be imparted into the spirit while maintaining the fresh fruit, citrus and vanilla notes so typical in Kilchoman releases.”

Our Tasting Notes

Nose: Apricot sweetness, toasted and charred pineapple, citrus.

Palate: Earthy peat, green apples and fresh barley.

Finish: Red berries and ginger with a touch of sea spray.
