With a capacity of 3.7 million litres about half of the whisky produced is reserved for single malt whisky. The distillery has one of the best tours on Speyside, although booking is essential. Floor malting was removed in 1962 and the number of stills were doubled in 1973 from two to four.
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Blood oranges, a rich tomato sauce. A touch of chilli spice with creamy undertones.
Palate: Very orangey – triple sec – very rich. Soft spice comes through along with darker fruits, raisins and sultanas.
Finish: Smooth and sweet. Peaches and mandarin orange segments.
