Founded by Andrea Ferrari, Hidden Spirits is a relatively new Italian independent bottler and online whisky shop, which prides itself on the meticulously careful selection of its bottlings. Hidden Spirits has its bottle labels designed by different Italian artists, and offers a variety of expressions under several series: the Highproof Collection of cask strength single casks over eight years of age; the Hidden Spirits Classic collection of single casks of varying strength over eight years of age; and the Young Rebels collection of single casks under eight years old.

This independent bottling has been sourced from the Tobermory distillery where it was distilled in 1995. It was then placed in a single ex Bourbon Hogshead and left to mature for 25 years. It was bottled at 50.2% abv in 2020. 1 of only 248 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose: White peaches and pork crackle. Grassy, nuanced vanilla and pineapple juice. Butterscotch after some time.

Palate: Gloriously thick and lush from the moment it meets the tongue. The typical saltiness of Tobermory is there but it’s very restrained. Biscuity and malty to the core. The most delicate alcohol character that hums the sweet coastal air of Mull.

Finish: The stone fruit experience from the nose returns on the finish, with peaches and pineapple. Rare to experience such fruits on the finish. A bready character on the exhale and blonde timber character.
