Bruichladdich 2008 Octomore 10 Years Old Dialogos Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Volume: 700ml           ABV: 57.3%           Age: 10 Years Old           Country: Scotland           PPM:167PPM *Free Bruichladdich Branded Whisky Tasting Glass with Every Bottle Ordered – Whilst Stocks Last The Bruichladdich distillery has achieved another high with a new release of their Octomore range. This single malt whisky has always graced the pallet as the peatiest whisky on the market, drying their barley with peat for long periods. The combination of the ex-bourbon barrel, ex-wine barrel and the deep smokey flavours creates a perfectly balanced whisky and one to savour. Octomore Ten is unleashed once more. Taking a different maturation path than its decade old predecessors, this third edition demonstrates the playfulness of the Octomore warehouse master. A patchwork quilt of sorts, many parcels of sophisticated spirit have been knitted together to complete this series’ relentless path of discovery. With the 09.1, 09.2 and 09.3 all distilled in 2012, a comparison of the changing characteristics is logical. Unlike any other in this series however, the Octomore Ten stands alone. Official Tasting Notes

Character: A dram of depth and worth taking some time to get to know. Greater than the sum of its parts and the parts that combine to make it have an individual story of their own. Nose: There is a richness, chocolate, tobacco, bonfire smoke, leather. Vanilla custard, blueberry dry straw and pear drops. Palate: Warming, spicy – mulled wine. Leather and tobacco, malt sugar, icing sugar. All wrapped in earthy peaty smoke. Dry on the palate. Finish: Oak driven, coconut, tobacco, vanilla, then smoke. In balance the time in the cask has calmed the smoke, both through the phenols lowering naturally over time and the influence of the oak becoming greater. Mood: This dram is bright and honest and has depth and backbone. Watching this spirit is develop is a privilege as there is a feeling with Octomore that there will always be a secret to revealed. Colour: Tawny
