“Welcome to one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland”. The Isle of Arran distillery was build in 1995 and is now one of two distilleries on the Isle of Arran on Scotland’s West Coast. The distillery boasts an ideal spot for production and distribution of whisky with warm fresh sea air, close proximity to the mainland and an abundance of fresh soft water.

In the early 19th century, there were more than 50 whisky distilleries on Arran, most of them illegal and carefully hidden from the eyes of the taxmen. The Island’s malt whisky was shipped to the mainland and enjoyed by the gentry, who regularly ‘took the Arran waters’. It was acclaimed at the time as the best whisky in Scotland – only rivalled by those from the ‘Glen of Livet’

The Distillery is situated at Lochranza, in the north of the Island. Lochranza in Arran really is perfect location for producing the perfect Malt. Here’s why:

• The area is home to the purest water in all of Scotland – water that’s been cleansed by red granite and softened as it slowly meanders from the mountaintops into nearby Loch na Davie.• Arran enjoys a warm microclimate – the atmosphere of sea breezes and clear mountain air, together with the warm flow of the Gulf Stream is ideal for the speedy maturation of single malts.• The Island has a reputation for producing the highest quality whisky.

Fully matured in casks previously used to mature Calvados. These casks were sourced from a producer whose family has been making Calvados in the region of Pont-L’Évêque in Normandy for generations. Bottled at 52.5% abv and boasting non Chill Filtration and natural colouring with only 4200 bottles produced for the entire world to enjoy.
