About the Winery
Levantine Hill merges two vineyards in the heart of the Yarra valley. The first is one of the highest hills on the Yarra valley floor, the other is on the banks of the Yarra River and alongside the Maroondah Highway Levantine Hill exists for one reason. To create handcrafted wines of uncompromised quality in the traditional French style. That’s why they do everything the traditional way, by hand. To make wine you require a great winemaker. Levantine have called upon the expertise of Paul Bridgemen, one of Australia’s best. This is the start of Levantine Hill’s quest for perfection.
About The Wine
The wines in the Levantine Hill Estate Range are all single vineyard wines produced from grapes grown on the Maroondah Highway Estate. Concentrated and complexed via infection of the selected berries with the noble Botrytis cinerea, this wine is rich and hedonistic, luscious and viscous yet elegant and structured. Aromas of honeycomb and beeswax, orange blossom, golden syrup dumplings, barley sugar, orange marmalade, and cardamom cream meld with flavours of ginger orange poppy seed cake, crème brûlée and Canelé de Bordeaux. It will gain further richness and dark allure with careful cellaring over 10+ years.
