The Independently owned Loch Lomond Company currently own this large distillery which produces around 2,500,000 litres of whisky per year. There are 8 single malts currently produced from this distillery Loch Lomond, Old Rusdhu and Inchmurrin are the main bottling labels you would tend to discover. Inchmurrin is named after the largest Island on the loch and is bottled as a ten year old. Vintage malts can also be expected from the Loch Lomond distillery 23, 33 and 30 years old whiskies are not uncommon and very popular worldwide.
Produced at the Loch Lomond distillery in the Central Scottish Highlands this single malt whisky has been a trio of casks which were ex-Bourbon casks, refill casks and recharred casks. This enhances the distilleries characteristics of vanilla and fresh cereals and spice. Bottled at 46% abv and un-chillfiltered allowing this whisky to keep all of its flavour and natural oils intact.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy porridge oats, fresh apples dipped in caramel, pear tart and toffee lattice.
Taste: Cooked malted barley, salted caramel biscuits, citrus peels, allspice and slightly herbal.
Finish: Some stewed apples, salted caramel and home baking spices.
